Vendors, Food Trucks Announced for Saturday’s Rison in the Fall Festival, Full Schedule Available

RISON – Rison Shine Community Development, Inc. is thrilled to announce a record number of vendors for this year’s Rison in the Fall Festival with over 50 vendors and food trucks setting up at the festival this Saturday, Oct. 18.

“There are crafts, gifts and plenty of food,” said Festival Director Douglas Boultinghouse. “There are a lot of opportunities to eat and shop this year!”

The festival opens to the public at 12 noon Saturday. Boultinghouse urges the public to stay away from the Main Street area prior to the opening time to allow for set up.

Prior to set up, the Fall Into Fitness 5K Run, 1-Mile Walk and 10K Bike Ride will take place on Pine Street at 8:30 a.m., followed by the Joe Cook Memorial Horseshoe Tournament at 10:30 a.m.

“As long as the crowds stay in the locations of the fitness event and horseshoe tournament prior to the official opening time, it should help things run smoothly,” Boultinghouse said.

Fun Activities for Kids

When the festival opens at 12 noon, attendees will get to enjoy fun activities including bounce houses located on Third Street provided by Freedom Assembly, and Rison’s very first “beach” set up in FBT Community Park on Main Street.

One of the food vendors, Mike’s Rolled Ice Cream, will be set up in the park to keep the cool fun going all afternoon at the beach!

Performance Schedule

Performances on the Rise Up Rison Stage will begin at 1 p.m. with native talent Laura Caroline performing country and gospel music. Rising Arkansas-based country music trio will perform at 2:30 p.m. Singer-songwriter Ernie Halter will take the stage at 4 p.m., followed by husband and wife “Beach Country” duo Thom and Coley at 5:30 p.m. Acclaimed country artist and headliner Sunny Sweeney will close out the festival at 7 p.m.

Weather Forecast

Boultinghouse said the festival team is monitoring the weather conditions for Saturday, noting that they keep changing predictions of rain.

“We hold the festival, rain or shine,” Boultinghouse said. “If there’s a chance of lightning, we may have to adjust performance schedules a bit.”

Any updates will be shared across the Rison in the Fall Festival, Rison Shine and Cleveland County Herald social media pages.
